Works Board OKs WFD Battalion Chiefs

Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety approved three Warsaw Fire Department personnel to be promoted to battalion chiefs during Friday’s meeting.
The board approved Robert Barker, Aaron Bolinger, and Edward Kipker to serve in the positions, who previously served as WFD captains.
Barker’s bi-weekly salary is $1,980.78; Bolinger’s bi-weekly salary is $2,013.34; and Kipker’s bi-weekly salary is $2,143.60.
Kerry Stogsdill went from being assistant fire chief to firefighter and his bi-weekly salary is $1,953.84.
Timothy Ihnen was approved as a Warsaw Parks Department laborer. The laborer opening was created after Jon Garber, parks superintendent, retired.
The board approved a preventative maintenance agreement between Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Territory for services on the generators at Station One and Two.
The board also approved a legal services agreement between Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Territory and Green, Cates & Grossnickle, Syracuse.
The board approved opening proposals to purchase five raw wastewater pumps for the Center Street Pump Station.
The board also approved a $2,454,000 contract with Grand River Construction Inc., Hudsonville, Mich., for installing a Center Street Pump Station.
The board approved a request from Housing Opportunities of Warsaw to withdraw $976.22 from the City of Warsaw Home Of Your Own Revolving Loan Program for reimbursement of expenses by Housing Opportunities of Warsaw.
The board approved an $8,625 contract with G & G Hauling and Excavating to install a new force main line at the Boggs Industrial Park Greenhill Street Lift Station.
Also approved were a $14,120 2012 Annual Wastewater Training Services Agreement between the city and Wastewater Solutions Inc.
The board approved a $150 bi-annual fee agreement for Cottage Watchman Division of E.F. Rhoades & Sons to provide additional security and alarm monitoring for the new addition to the maintenance building at  the Wastewater Plan 2.
The board also approved several Warsaw Parks Department contracts.
The contracts are for  Charles Ray serving as a fly fishing instructor; Jarrod Humbarger serving as a DJ for the Daddy Daughter Dance; Creating Comedy Balloon & Face Art for entertainment for Brunch With The Bunny and face painting for the family carnival.
Other contracts approved were for Joni Cripe to provide pony rides for the family carnival and cultural festival event, a petting farm for the Fall Family Fun event and reindeer for the Light Up The Night event.
