A Warsaw woman was arrested for stealing someone’s identity to gain employment.
According to the probable cause affidavit provided by Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Roberta Guevara, 44, of 1692 E. CR 200N, Warsaw, had been using the name of Marissa Coronado since 2013. Guevara faces felony charges of identity deception and forgery. She was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on a $5,250 bond.
When Indiana State Police contacted Coronado, who lives in Texas, she advised that she has never been in Indiana and that her car was stolen several years ago and that it contained her Social Security number.
Guevara had used Coronado’s information to obtain an Indiana identification card registered to her own Warsaw address. She also forged Coronado’s signature.
Indiana Workforce Development Investigator advised that Coronado’s name had been used in several businesses in Kosciusko and Elkhart counties. People Link Staffing provided a job application dated Sept. 29 signed Marissa Coronado. A Social Security Association investigator reached out to Guevara, who admitted to working at several businesses using Coronado’s name. She possessed Coronado’s Texas ID, and bought a Social Security card and birth certificate for Coronado in Chicago.[[In-content Ad]]
