ROCHESTER - Wm. "Lee" Sheets, 98, formerly of 117 Ohio St., Rochester, died at 4:15 a.m. Aug. 26, 2008, in Grace Village, Winona Lake, where he resided for four years. He was in failing health the past two years.

He was born April 15, 1910, in Fulton County, near Richland Center, to Clarence Edgar and Alma Videl Sheets, who preceded him in death. In November 1938, in Lafayette, he married Louise Oliver, who died in October 1965. On Oct. 19, 1994, in Indianapolis, he married Dorotha M. Binkley, who survives.

Living in the Fulton County area most of his life, he also lived in Argos for 16 years. He worked many jobs, including the railroad at Argos, The Rochester Sentinel and retired from farming. He loved to hear and tell jokes. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Rochester, and Warsaw Community Grace Brethren Church.

Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Sheila Poe, Warsaw; a stepson, Curtis (and spouse Judy) Binkley, Leigh Acres, Fla.; six step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and a niece, Mitzi (and spouse Chet) Hewitt, Indianapolis. A sister, Donna Griffith, and a brother, Carl Sheets, both preceded him in death in 2000.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Tom Abbitt officiating. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
