Winter Classes, Events Coming Up At Kosciusko YMCA

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

The Kosciusko Community YMCA will  offer a second Session of Winter classes starting Feb. 23.
Youth classes will include swim lessons and gymnastics classes for all ages.
According to a YMCA press release, classes that promote the healthy living aspect of your Y will include group exercise classes at both the Parkview Warsaw YMCA and the North Webster branch, classes for older adults and water aerobics in both the Warm Water and Lap Pools.
All group exercise and water aerobics classes are now included with a Y membership.  Registration for the youth classes starts on Monday for Y members and Feb. 16 for everyone and can take place at the North Webster or the Parkview Warsaw YMCA branch or online at www.kcymca.org  Group exercise and water aerobics classes do not require registration, if you’re a Y member you can just show up.
Because the new Parkview Warsaw YMCA includes four program spaces for group exercise the Y has been able offer several new classes this winter including: TDF Boot Camp ®, Pound ®, Lunch Crunch Yoga, Tabata, Barre Fitness, Hip Hop, Reality Martial Arts Conditioning, Salsa, and Pilates.  Barre Fitness will include a full body-toning routine combining dance inspired barre work and light weights to sculpt and strengthen.
Hip Hop will be an opportunity to express yourself through music and dance, each movement will be taught step-by-step.  Lunch Crunch Yoga will be a 30 minute class focusing on a specific body region each class, allowing you to strengthen and stretch.  Pound will fuse cardio, Pilates, isometric movement and plyometric poses into a full-body cardio session using light resistance with constant simulated drumming.  See more descriptions at www.kcymca.org
Learn how to save a life with an American Red Cross Lifeguard Class at the YMCA.  During the three day class you’ll participate in both classroom and in-water skills to be certified as a lifeguard.  Participants must be 15 years old, able to swim 300 yards, and able to retrieve a 10lb brick from 10 feet of water.  The class is Feb. 20, 5 to 9 p.m., Feb. 21, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Feb. 22, 1 to 6 p.m. Contact Steven Kuhn at [email protected] to register.[[In-content Ad]]
