WINONA LAKE - Kim Endicott, Winona Lake's recently resigned street superintendent, will be watching the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Endicott, along with Bart Jones, his replacement, and the Winona Lake Plan Commission, held a special meeting Thursday to discuss CR 250E.

Endicott still attends Winona Lake town council and plan commission meetings to help the street superintendent transition flow smoothly. He assured the board in an earlier meeting that he would be available for questions.

"Give me a call," Endicott said. "Evening will be fine." But "Sunday will not be fine. I'll be watching the Super Bowl," Endicott joked.

The board is planning to upgrade CR 250E.

"That road needs something done," Endicott said, "I would suggest that we go ahead and work with the county on that."

Robert D. Ladson and Warren Gruenewald, from Kosciusko County Highway Department, were present at the meeting to discuss the road construction.

Ladson, Kosciusko County engineer and highway superintendent, said anything the board had before them was purely a draft and at a preliminary stage. "But we figured we all need to be good neighbors here and we're just trying to get the ball rolling," Ladson said. "What we're looking at is basically a little bit of widening and repaving. We are not looking at multi-lanes at this point."

Ladson said the pavement is in bad condition. "It's a major route and it carries a lot of traffic," he said. "We would like to go ahead and widen it to 12-foot lanes."

Ladson said the upgrading of the road "hasn't even been approved by the commissioners, but, we've talked to the commissioners about it."

At this stage, he said, the city of Warsaw has not approved a plan for upgrading CR 250E.

Members of the Winona Lake Plan Commission include: Mike Grill, Randy Ruppel, Rolly Ortega, Lynette Dick, Kim Endicott, Mark Workman and Craig Snow. [[In-content Ad]]
