Winona Announces Summer Programs

WINONA LAKE – Many events are planned for youth this summer through the Winona Lake Summer Park Program.

Registration for classes begins April 9 at the Winona Lake Parks Department office, 1590 Park Avenue, Winona Lake.

Classes are June 11-Aug. 3. Each class is $15.

Week one classes are June 11-15. At 9 a.m. there will be youth soccer for ages 5 and older, and a Wild Wild West program for preschool-age children.

At 10 a.m. there will be Pee-Wee soccer for ages 3-5 and arts and crafts and Color My World for ages 5 and up. At 11 a.m. there will be archery and Crazy Cool Science Fun for ages 5 and up.

Week two classes are June 18-22. At 9 a.m. there will be youth basketball for ages 5 and older and an Under The Sea program for preschool students.

At 10 a.m. there will be Pee-Wee basketball for those ages 3-5 and an Arts & Crafts: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Art program for ages 5 and older; and canoeing and volleyball for ages 5 and up will be at 11 a.m.

Week three classes are June 25-29. At 9 a.m. there will be youth tennis for ages 5 and older and a Creepy Crawly Bugs program for ages 5 and older.

At 10 a.m. there will be tennis for those 3 to 5 and an arts and crafts pottery program for ages 5 and up.

At 11 a.m. there is a pioneering program and Mommy & Me Zumba and Poms program.

The poms program is from 10 a.m. to noon and the cost is $40 for ages 3 and up.

Week four classes are July 2-6.

At 9 a.m. Wiffle Ball is for ages 5 and older and a Pirate Adventures program is for ages 3 to 5.

At 10 a.m. there will be Pee-Wee t-ball for ages 3-5 and Arts & Crafts Mini Monet Camp is scheduled.

A Safety First Fishing Fun is at 11 a.m. for ages 5 and up.

Week five classes are from July 9-13.

At 9 a.m. youth soccer is for ages 5 and up and a Castles, Queens and Diamonds Rings program is for ages 3-5.

Pee-Wee soccer for ages 3-5 is at 10 a.m. and volleyball and a terrific twos program is at 11 a.m.

Week six classes are July 16-20. Youth basketball is at 9 a.m. and a Down On The Farm event is for preschool ages 3-5.

At 10 a.m. Pee-Wee Basketball for ages 3-5 is scheduled as well as Arts & Crafts. At 11 a.m. there will be a Hiking & Biking event for ages 5 and up.

Week seven classes are June 23-27.

Youth tennis is at 9 a.m.  and Super Story Adventure is for those ages 3-5.

Pee-Wee tennis for ages 3-5 is at 10 a.m. as well as Arts & Crafts: Jewelry Design.

Archery and a Crazy Cool Science Fun will be an event for those 5 and older at 11 a.m.

Week eight classes are July 30-Aug. 3.

A Fishing Fun program is at 9 a.m. as well as a Space Invasion program for preschool ages 3 to 5.

Pee-Wee t-ball is at 10 a.m. for ages 3 to 5 and an Arts & Crafts Around The World event is planned for ages 5 and up.

Canoeing and Mommy & Me Zumba is planned at 11 a.m.

There will be free swimming lessons offered Mondays through Fridays at 10, 10:30, 11 and 11:30 a.m.
