She was born June 10, 1932, in Kewanna, to Samuel and Pearle Belle Metzger Woods. On April 2, 1959, she married Tommy Calvin Allred, who died Dec. 19, 1990.
Following graduation in 1950 from Kewanna High School, she worked at Armour Creameries, Rochester, as a licensed milk tester. She also worked as a mag-card typist for the Chester White Record Association.
As a loyal member of First Baptist Church, she served through the years as a Sunday school teacher, member of the finance board, board of Christian Education, deaconess, financial secretary and church secretary for 15 years. She retired in 2003 from Woodlawn Hospital, where she worked in the medical records department for 17 years.
Surviving are a son, Larry D. (and spouse Cathleen) Sparks, Bloomington; and two daughters, Sharon Kay (and spouse David) Morris and Linda Jean Allred, all of Rochester. She also was preceded in death by a sister.
She donated her remains to the Anatomical Education Program of the Indiana University School of Medicine for research and education.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Rochester, with Dr. Mark Spencer officiating.
Calling is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge of arrangements.
