Gaylord and Mercedes Williams, Chapman Lake, Warsaw, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Sept. 11 with family and friends.
Gaylord and the former Mercedes Heitz were married Sept. 11, 1949, at Huntington Church of the Brethren, Huntington, by the Rev. Galen T. Lehman.
Gaylord retired in 1987 from motor carrier sales and Mercedes is a homemaker. They are the parents of a son, Jeff Williams, Los Angeles, Calif., and a daughter, Joy (and spouse Brian) Conrad, Columbia City.
They have four grandchildren: Kevin Hackworth, North Webster; Kara Plaehn, Columbia City; Kyle Hackworth, Warsaw; Nick Allen, New Orleans, La.; and three great-grandchildren: Kaily and Kaimen Hackworth; and Griffith Plaehn.
