He was born Sept. 24, 1941, in Truman, Ark., to Clarence and Lola Kykendall Rose. On Jan. 30, 1962, in Wabash, he married Marie Ann Camp, who survives.
He was a mechanic at Petro's GM Showplace, Warsaw, for 36 years. He was a member of the North Manchester Moose Lodge and the Silver Lake Lions Club. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, automobile racing and old western movies.
Also surviving are two children, Thomas Paul (and spouse Penny) Rose and Wendi (and spouse Richard) Best, both of Warsaw; three grandchildren: Sharresa Rose, Claypool; Dustin Rose and Craig Best, both of Warsaw; five step-grandchildren: Jamie Best and Nicholas Williamson, both of Warsaw; Amber Verble, Pensacola, Fla.; Brandon (and spouse Jenn) Williamson, Leesburg; Jonah (and spouse Monica) Best, Bourbon; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lenny (and spouse Carolyn) Rose and Gene (and spouse Sue) Rose, both of Wabash; two sisters, Janette Gentner, Wabash, and Dorothy Kerr, Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Lonnie Rose; and a sister, Jane Rose.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with Larrie Kreft officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
