He was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Pike County, Ky., to Floyd and Dorothy Tackett Bumgardner. On Aug. 3, 1946, he married Ann P. Carter, who survives.
He retired from Celotex, Lagro, after 39-1/2 years. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene, North Manchester, and a volunteer fireman for North Manchester Fire Department for many years.
Also surviving are a son, William Bumgardner, Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Ola Geneva "Genie" Wildridge, Wabash, and Barbara Ann (and spouse Robert) Hart, North Manchester; two sisters, Rachel (and spouse Carl) Damron and Mary Meyer, all of Rochester; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Darrell Cox officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
