He was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Miami County, to William and Marie Lukens Hunter. On April 27, 1946, he married Betty A. Floor, who survives.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and was a member of Lincoln Lodge, Macy. He was a World War II U.S. Army Aircorps veteran.
Also surviving are a son, Don Hunter, Anderson; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ellen and Alice. He was preceded in death by a daughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Lowell Burrus officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery. There will be military honors by members of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Rochester.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
