LEESBURG - William H. Kann, 81, passed away peacefully Dec. 18, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a brief but bravely fought battle with cancer. He was born March 3, 1933 in Galesburg, Ill., to Elmer and Catherine Kann. On June 8, 1978, he married Karen, the love of his life, who survives in Leesburg. He loved to say he was born on 3-3-33. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy as a flight mechanic during the Korean War. He retired from American Maize in Hammond, in 1994 and moved to the Barbee Lakes area in 1996. He was co-owner, with his wife, of Heart of the Lakes Antique Mall in North Webster. He loved reading, traveling, camping and fishing, but most importantly, his family. Surviving are children: David Kann, Golden, Co.; Sheila (and spouse Chuck) McCann, Parker, Co.; Rick Kann, Golden, Co.; Celeste (and spouse Terry) Saunier, Kimmell, Ind.; Sandi (and spouse Greg) Burger, Knox, Ind.; four beautiful grandchildren: Caitlin, Melissa, Daniel and Katy; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Lilly; two sisters, Jean (and spouse Ward) Huevelman, Littleton, Co., and Marjorie Bell, Galesburg, Ill. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Kann. No services are planned.
