COLUMBIA CITY – William G. Marks, 87, Winona Lake, formerly of Columbia City, passed away at 4:57 a.m. Oct. 24, 2013, at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake.  
He was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Columbia City, to Garl  E. and Arlouine Ramp Marks.
He and his parents moved for a short time to Montpelier, Ohio, from Columbia City, but with that exception, he has spent the rest of his life in the Columbia City area, residing at Loon Lake since 1984. While there he enjoyed fishing for bluegill, playing cards and creating oil paintings. He attended Columbia City Public Schools. He was employed with Whitley Plastics and General Electric early in his career and then the Dana Weatherhead Company, Columbia City, for 28 years as a machinist. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and F&AM Lodge 189, Columbia City.
Surviving are his step-daughter, Terry (and spouse Jeff) Jurgess, Harbor Beach, Mich.; a sister, Betty Jean Marks Miller, Winona Lake; three step-grandchildren:  Jared (and Kristie Booms) Jurgess, Joshua Jurgess and Jeremy (and spouse Lauren) Jurgess; step-great-grandson, Ryder; and niece, Tina Landon. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Perry Schinbeckler; first wife, Mary K. Marks; second wife, Norma Jean Marks; and brother, Garl Marks Jr.
Services will be at noon Monday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with Chaplain Glenn Byers officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
Calling will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
