NORTH MANCHESTER - William A. "Bill" Smiley, 64, of Silver Lake, died at 6:05 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008, in his residence.

He was born June 4, 1944, in Warsaw, to Bert Jr. and Georgia Warren Smiley. On Aug. 19, 1967, he married Juanita "Tina" Royce, who survives.

He retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Warsaw, in 1999, after 36 years of service. He graduated from Atwood High School in 1962, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of John C. Peterson American Legion Post 49, Warsaw. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Also surviving are a son, Shawn (and spouse Heidi) Smiley, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Kristina M. Smiley, North Manchester; and five grandchildren, Cristofer and Brittany Smiley, both of North Manchester, and Derek and Dustin Smiley and Treyvin Moss, all of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by two sons and a brother.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with the Rev. Richard W. Harris officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
