Will Wienhorst will remain head coach of the Warsaw Lady Tiger basketball team despite resigning his position as business teacher at Warsaw Community High School Monday night.
Wienhorst said he was leaving for personal reasons and is pursuing opportunities in the private sector.
"I plan to stay in the community and coach Lady Tiger basketball next season" said Wienhorst.
Wienhorst has compiled a 316-93 record in 18 years at Warsaw and a 420-134 mark overall in his 25-year career, which included seven years at South Newton.
Last season Wienhorst led Warsaw to a 26-3 record and a trip to the 4A state final where Indianapolis North Central defeated the Tigers 53-38.
WCHS Athletic Director Dave Fulkerson said he would not comment on any personnel decisions but was aware Wienhorst had resigned from his teaching duties and fully expected him to remain as head coach for the 2004-05 season. [[In-content Ad]]
