He is currently at Lafayette Jefferson, where he served as assistant coach.
Earlier this month, it reported was Triton assistant coach and long-time Glenn head coach Gordon Mosson would take the job.
Whitko Athletic Director Rob Iriwin confirmed that to the Times-Union.
It was later learned that Mosson decided to step down before the school board could approve his hiring.

Wessel said he was contacted by Rob Irwin and he agreed to take the job late last week.
Wessel said he was determined to have a strong program down to the first grade.
