Wells Lamont Industry Group, a division of Wells Lamont Corp., recently announced its acquisition of the Jomac Inc. glove and protective clothing divisions, Jomac Products and Jomac Canada.

The acquisition includes both the Warsaw and Atwood plants. According to Patrick Terry, Jomac general manager, the Warsaw plant employs 95 workers; there are 28 employees at the Atwood plant.

"They aren't going to make any changes as far as personnel. We are going to help them secure a larger portion of the industrial safety market," Terry said.

Jomac Products Inc., 1624 E. Winona Ave., began operations in Warsaw more than 50 years ago.

According to a press release, Wells Lamont has manufacturing facilities worldwide, including plants in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Africa, Asia, Europe, Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Far East. The Jomac acquisition adds manufacturing plants in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Wells Lamont Industry Group, headquartered in Niles, Ill., makes a wide variety of hand protection products for industry. The company also offers technical glove products for controlled environment applications and manufactures leather work gloves.

Jomac manufactures a line of terry cloth and Kevlar gloves, vinyl-coated gloves and mitts and sleeves for industry. The company also produces chemical resistant, arc resistant and liquid proof clothing for commercial fishermen, crossing guards, electric utility workers, construction laborers, police and others.

"The combined resources of Wells Lamont Industry Group and Jomac's protective glove and clothing divisions provide our customers with greater value," said Wells Lamont Corp.
