He was born March 8, 1929, in Warsaw, to Raymond and Willodean “Leighty” Kincaide. On June 16, 1956, in Kendallville, he married Marilyn Axel, who survives.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged June 18, 1955. A lifetime Warsaw resident, he owned and operator Kincaide Milk Distributors, retiring in 1991. He was a 1947 graduate of Warsaw High School and 1953 graduate of the University of Indianapolis (formerly Indiana Central College). He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served on the missions committee, endowment trust board, financial committee, taught Sunday school for youth to senior adult. He volunteered with Mobile Meals and the Community Soup Kitchen. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement, gardening and bicycle riding.
He was a member of the Warsaw Ballroom Dance Association, Warsaw Masonic Lodge 73 F&AM and Scottish Rite, Fort Wayne. He was a man of inner strength and of great wisdom. His grandchildren were very special to him and was always thoughtful of his wife and enjoyed doing special things for her. He had a way of making newcomers feel at ease, always had a joke to share and taught those he loved and those who loved him how to live as a Christian and how to die as a Christian.
Also surviving are a son, Bradley R. (and spouse Betina) Kincaide, Warsaw; a daughter, Kelly Ann (and spouse Dan) Wright, State College, Pa.; six grandchildren: Timothy and Daria Watkins; Sarah Hoffman; Thomas Conley; and Paul and Mary Ann Wright; three great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Doris Kesler, Warsaw.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor David Hummel of the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military graveside honors by members of Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
