NORTH WEBSTER - Jon Sroufe, North Webster town council president, addressed the concerns this week from the September meeting regarding the water drainage issues allegedly coming from Hoss Hills.

Sroufe consulted with Matt Sandy, Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission, and was told that everything was done according to specifications.[[In-content Ad]]The town agreed to clean the storm drains to see if that will help the situation.

Ted Woolums informed the council that Tom White, a Second Street resident, no longer wants to participate in the efforts to fix the drainage issues that would involve the use of his property.

There was discussion of the previous plan to install catch basins and their locations. Woolums recommended changing the location of one catch basin. No decision was made and the public works department will look in to it more.

Greg Gear, public works department, gave a review of the current activities of his department pertaining to the storm water system, collection system, buildings, equipment, streets and waste water plant.

The council agreed to the expenditure for overhead doors for the garage and shop building, not to exceed $15,000.

Gear also informed the council that the vactor rebuild/refurbishment has been completed and is ready for use. Sroufe commended Tim Hine for assisting in finding an affordable solution to the matter.

Gear also recommended the paving bid to Niblock. The $37,000 will cover the paving of all streets in the original bid with the exclusion of Washington Street.

The council agreed to the first draft of the agreement between the town, Pinnacle Group and Crystal Flash.

Candace Smythe gave the monthly police report.
