After an historic election where for the first time an African-American was elected president of the United States, Warsaw Community Schools decides to show the community that it is tone deaf to the ethnic and racial sensitivities of the community they serve.
We had to cancel school today so, hey, I know let's take the only holiday that celebrates an African-American (Martin Luther King Jr.) who walked the streets with death threats hanging over his head and gave his life for a cause so that Americans of African descent could have the same basic fundamental rights as all other Americans had and use that day for a snow day make up. This organization never ceases to amaze. Once again we are shown that one should not listen to the rhetoric that organizations use to state their positions on certain issues like equality, and rather we should look upon the actions they take involving said issues.
