Madison Elementary School recently hosted the Warsaw Community Schools Chess Tournament. In an effort to increase awareness of hunger issues still prevalent in Haiti after the earthquake, Jay Bolduc, chess team coach for both Madison and Washington elementaries, coordinated with Clark Shepherd to raise money at the tournament through concessions sales. All students participating in the tournament also had the opportunity to purchase a T-shirt that read ‘Stamp out Hunger,’ which had their name listed on the back. Proceeds from T-shirt sales went to hunger efforts in Haiti as well. Pictured are the Warsaw Community Schools students who placed in the tournament and received a trophy. Fifteen of the 30 who earned trophies were Madison students.[[In-content Ad]]
