By DAVID SLONE, Times-Union Staff Writer-

White Cane Day is Saturday.

What is it?

Members of the Warsaw Community High School student council and three local Lions Clubs will be at area merchants to raise money to help WCS students with various disabilities - vision, speech, hearing, etc.

The local Lions Clubs participating in White Cane Day from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. include the Warsaw, Winona Lake and Leesburg groups. The local merchants participating include Kmart and both Owen's stores.

Matt Guy, WCHS student council representative, said, "We're trying to raise as much money as possible."

All monies raised will be used to help the students who need financial help with their disabilities. If someone chooses to help by making a donation, they will receive a white cane to wear on their lapel. [[In-content Ad]]
