By Staff Report-

Every year, the top high school and middle level youth volunteers in each state and the District of Columbia are selected as state honorees for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.
Each honoree receives a $1,000 award, an engraved silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for several days of national recognition events.
In addition, between two and 10 runners-up in each state are named “Distinguished Finalists” and receive a bronze medallion.
Jacob Reynolds, 18, a senior at Warsaw Community High School, was named as one of the finalists.
He raised $1,300 by planning the "Perspective 5K" in August. His goal was to provide financial support to members of the military in honor of his late grandfather, a 25-year Navy veteran.
Reynolds sought sponsorships from local businesses and coordinated all the details of the race, which drew 53 runners. He is the son of Ron and Tracy Reynolds, Warsaw.[[In-content Ad]]
