More than 5,000 nationwide members, advisers, alumni and guests of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America gathered in Anaheim, Calif., July 8-12 for the 2007 National Leadership Meeting.

Thirteen Warsaw Community High School students, two advisers and one parent were among them.

This year's student-devised subject for the annual national meeting was "Leadership Revolution." Throughout the five-day convention, participants examined and discussed several critical issues, including family, school and community violence prevention, physical as well as financial fitness, future career exploration and many community service projects.

A number of youth issues, such as the changing roles of men and women in the home and workplace, traffic safety and cancer awareness, also were explored at the meeting through presentations, workshops and youth sessions.

During State Leadership conference in March, several students participated in Students Taking Action with Recognition events. Of the many students who took part, 10 students received the highest score in Indiana, qualifying them for nationals. They each received medals during a recognition session honoring all participants at the Anaheim Convention on July 12. The state of Indiana received 16 gold and 17 silver medals with WCHS students receiving seven of the gold and three of the silver.[[In-content Ad]]
