MILFORD - Wayne M. Bucher, 91, Syracuse, died at 2:15 a.m. Aug. 1, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.

He was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Milford, to Jacob R. and LaVica Dewart Bucher. On April 17, 1938, he married Irene Poe, who survives.

He was a lifetime Dewart Lake resident. He spent winters in Fort Myers, Fla. He was a farmer before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Warsaw First Christian Church, Masonic Lodge, Tippecanoe Country Club for 40 years from 1968 to 2008 and last charter member of the Milford Lions Club.

Also surviving are a daughter, Cindy (and spouse Stan) Harper, Syracuse; two sons, Wayne (and spouse Sandra) Bucher Jr., Milford, and Don (and spouse Peggy) Bucher, Syracuse; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Milford, with Eldon Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
