Wayne Leslie Smith, 83, died at 11:05 p.m. Dec. 11, 2008, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.

He was born March 25, 1925, in Fountain County, to Leslie E. Smith and J. Isalone White Smith. On June 14, 1943, in Crawfordsville, he married Doris Smith, who preceded him in death Oct. 19, 2008.

He moved to Warsaw in 1970 from Muncie. He was a truck driver for Morgan Leasing for 29 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Cummings and Carolyn Sudlow, both of Warsaw; six grandchildren: Dawn Fritsch, Amy Jackson, Rich Sudlow, Candace Lobo, Amanda Sudlow, and Carrie McGuire; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William L. Smith, who preceded him in death Jan. 22, 2005; an infant son, Michael Smith; an infant daughter, Judith Smith; a brother, Charles Smith; and a sister, Doris Evelyn Setze.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Denny Bollenbacher, Chaplain at Mason Health and Rehabilitation, and Pastor Ron Horgan, Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
