NAPPANEE - Wayne Eldon Slabaugh, 79, of 602 N. Williams, Nappanee, died at 3:05 a.m. Dec. 9, 2010, in his residence. He was ill for the last four months.

He was born July 7, 1931, in Kosciusko County, to Willard J. and Marjorie C. Young Slabaugh. On Aug. 19, 1951, in Nappanee, he married Patricia Ann Hollar, who survives.

A lifetime Nappanee resident, he was a 1949 Nappanee High School graduate and owned Hollar Market until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and First Brethren Church, Nappanee, and attended First Mennonite Church, Nappanee. He was a Korean War veteran.

Also surviving are two sons, Randall (and spouse Jo Lynne) Slabaugh and Stephen Slabaugh, all of Nappanee; a daughter, Carla (and spouse Ken) Becker, Sweetwater, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Max (and spouse Shirley) Slabaugh, Goshen; and three sisters: Mary Crowe, Bremen; Jo Anne Kroft, Ashland, Ohio; and Rita Moore, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by an infant son.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Revs. Janet McFall-Brown and Tom Schiefer officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.

Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
