SYRACUSE - Wayne Boggs, 86, formerly of Syracuse, passed away Feb. 17, 2011, at Lakeland Rehab in Milford.
He was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Warsaw, to Edward and Clara Brandenburg Boggs. On Dec. 31, 1955, he married Delores Cole, who preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2000.
He was a lifelong area resident. He worked for Weatherhead & Dana, retiring in 1987. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a lifetime member of the Syracuse VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of the Syracuse Eagles.
He is survived by two daughters, Duane (and spouse Deb) Sparbel, Nappanee, and Karen Caprio, Syracuse; a son, Mike (and spouse Karen) Mishler, Nappanee; six grandchildren; and a brother, Dale (and spouse Kathy) Boggs, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by a son, Brad Mishler, and a sister, Florence Plew.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Burial will be at Syracuse Cemetery with military honors.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
