Wawasee Swim Teams Narrowly Lose To Concord

SYRACUSE — The Wawasee boys and girls swim teams each suffered close Northern Lakes Conference losses at home Tuesday night against Concord.
In the girls meet, the 15th-ranked Wawasee Lady Warriors fell 95-90 to the 25th-ranked Lady Minutemen, while the boys lost 94-89.
In defeat, sophomore Breanna Robinson continued her impressive career, winning the 200 free (1:54.06) and 100 free (52.50), events she ranked second and first in the state in, respectively.
Also getting wins for the Lady Warriors were sophomore Tori Sylvester (diving), freshman Elizabeth Rozow (100 back) and the 400 free relay of freshman Kayla Hershberger, sophomore Kendra Miller, Rozow and Robinson.
The Wawasee boys won seven events in the team loss, as freshman Logan Brugh (100 fly, 500 free), senior Sebastian List (200 free, 100 back) and junior Zac Hershberger (100 breast, 200 IM) each won two events.
Wawasee’s 400 free relay of senior Andrew Busse, Brugh, List and Hershberger also finished first.
The Lady Warriors host their own invitational Saturday, while the boys and girls are both in action Tuesday at home against NorthWood.
