Wawasee DECA Headed To Orlando

SYRACUSE – Nate Smith and Frank Dush, juniors at Wawasee High School, will be going to Orlando, Fla., Saturday through Monday to compete at the International DECA Competition.
The two, along with some 15 other Wawasee students, competed at state competition in Indianapolis in March.  Only the top three teams in each event at state qualify for the international competition. The boys placed first in the highly competitive category of financial analysis.
The teams from Wawasee are coached throughout the year by advisors Cory Schutz and Lauren Richard.
More recently, the duo has been working with local finance professional Sam Korenstra of Jasper Plastics, and former Lake City Bank president Doug Grant.
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
