Wawasee Athletic Director Wiktorowski Announces Retirement

“After dealing with some health issues the past six months and recent surgery, I am just not sure at this time if I will be physically up to the time commitment of being an AD when fall seasons begin,” Wiktorowski said in the e-mail. “I'm told my recovery will take longer than originally anticipated, so I think it is in the best interests of everyone if I take advantage of the opportunity to retire soon. This gives administration time to find my replacement before practices start and I can help with the transition from summer to fall.”
Wiktorowski, who stepped down from his basketball coaching duties shortly after the season ended in March following a 2-21 campaign, said he has no definite plans for the future, but will do what he can to aid in the transition to a new athletic director.
“It is my intention to focus on my recovery and returning to full health in the coming months, and then seeing what the future holds after that,” he said. “I had looked forward to the coming year and especially working with new coaches and administrators.
“However, it is best for everyone if someone else takes on those duties to start the year. I was blessed to work with so many good people and am very thankful for their support of and dedication to the Warrior Way. I wish our athletes, coaches, and passionate fans nothing but success this coming year.”[[In-content Ad]]
