Warsaw's Burritt Headed To Grace College

Burritt, a four-year cross country letterman that had a chance to showcase her skills in the International Children’s Games in Scotland as a sophomore, has also earned two varsity letters in swimming, and three in track.
Having moved in the middle of her junior year with her family from Marion to Warsaw, Burritt didn’t skip a stride when changing from purple to orange.
In her first three years with cross country at Marion, Burritt was named Rookie of the Year in her first campaign on the course, and racked up three North Central Conference All-Conference awards all three years. She was selected team Most Valuable Player award in both her sophomore and junior years, and was named Academic All-State as a junior.
In her senior year with the Tigers, Burritt maintained her outstanding pace and helped the cross country team reach the state finals, and her efforts awarded her with being named the team’s Mental Attitude Award winner as well as an Academic All-State selection for the second year in a row.
A three-year member of the Mu Alpha Theta, Burritt demonstrated she is one of the top athletes on the track and cross country course each time the gun sounds.
In the classroom, Burritt is a two-year member of the Spanish Honor Society and the Art Honor Society and has earned a 12.99 Grade Point Average on a 12-point scale and she stands 13th in her class of 551 students.
Despite devoting the time and effort it takes to be one of the best around in both athletics and academics, Burritt understands the importance of making an impact on others as well.
A six-year member of her youth group where she is the S.A.L.T. Leader, she has served as an assistant teacher for preschool students with the Kids Action Club, and her family has had the opportunity to host six Ukrainian exchange students over the years.
After Burritt earns her 10th varsity letter in her career this spring through participation with track, she will begin her steps toward the Grace College campus where she will study Exercise Science with plans to move on to graduate school and become a physical therapist.
