Warsaw Zoners Approve Beauty Shop In Residential District

Initially the city recommended denying the shop at 805 E. Fort Wayne St. because parking had not been discussed, according to Tim Dombrosky, assistant city planner.
However, since petitioner Laura Alvarado said there will be concrete parking behind the building and adjacent property owners did not express concern with the businesse’s location, the city did not have a problem with locating the business in a residential district.
Board member Tammy Dalton made the motion to approve the request, seconded by Jack Wilhite, with stipulations that there must be one employee, the business must have a small sign placed in the window and if the business ever moves or closes the building must go back to a single family dwelling.
Alvarado attended the meeting and said there will be parking in the back, she will be the only employee and a business sign will be placed in the window.
In other business, the board approved a use variance request from petitioner Paul Henning to allow a private garage on Gilliam Avenue.
Also during the meeting, Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer swore in board member Tammy Dalton to a second term and thanked her for her service.
“I appreciate Tammy’s service and she balances the board out with her involvement in real estate,” Thallemer said.
Tom Allen, who was absent during Monday’s meeting, will be sworn in at the February meeting.[[In-content Ad]]
