A Warsaw woman is in critical condition after a Sunday morning accident involving a semi tractor trailer.

The Kosciusko County Fatal/Alcohol Crash Team responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of Prairie Street and Ind. 15 in Warsaw at 10:03 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to police reports, a semi tractor trailer driven by Michael L. Moore II, 35, of Gas City, was headed northbound on Ind. 15 when his vehicle collided with a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Katie L. Owens, 26, Warsaw.

Owens was headed west on Prairie Street.

Owens suffered extensive head injuries and was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne by Samaritan Air Ambulance.

Owens was listed in critical condition this morning.

A police report stated that Moore couldn't be certain if the traffic signal at Prairie Street was green or red for northbound traffic.

Owens' Jeep was pushed into a 1997 Ford Contour traveling south on Ind. 15 driven by Carolyn E. Strunk, 34, Indianapolis.

Strunk and two juvenile passengers in the Contour were all uninjured in the collision.

A witness who was headed southbound on Ind. 15 and was behind Strunk, said he was certain that the light was red.

Another witness who came to a stop at the right turn lane of Ind. 15 at Prairie Street said she was certain the light was red as well and that she observed Moore's vehicle from her rear view mirror traveling at a high rate of speed and go through the intersection without stopping.

The incident is currently under investigation.

Warsaw Police Department, Kosciusko County Sherrif's Department, Warsaw Fire Department and Multi Township EMS all assisted on the scene.
