Warsaw Schools Super Hintz Gets Good Marks

Dr. Craig Hintz, Warsaw Community Schools superintendent, received a positive score from the Warsaw School Board in his annual evaluation.
During the board’s meeting Monday night, President Jennifer Tandy announced the board had completed its annual evaluation of the superintendent.
“The school board of trustees utilized the Superintendent Evaluation Manual provided by the State of Indiana in order to conduct a meaningful and formative evaluation of the professional performance of Dr. Hintz in his leadership role with Warsaw Community Schools. The board members considered and evaluated six standards of effective leadership by a school leader,” she stated.
Hintz completed his fourth year as WCS superintendent in June. She noted that his evaluation resulted in an aggregate score that demonstrated “highly effective leadership.”
“It was further noted that Dr. Hintz was selected by the State of Indiana as Superintendent of the Year, and this honor was bestowed upon him, in part, based upon his visionary leadership that led to the adoption of a strategic plan for the corporation, and his implementation of objectives that have led to accomplishment of many of the goals set forth in the strategic plan,” Tandy stated.
“Of considerable importance, it was noted that all schools within the system earned a grade letter ‘A’ from the (Indiana Department of Education), and the corporation earned a grade letter of ‘A’ from the IDOE. It was further stated that the curriculum available to students has been substantially expanded at the elementary, middle and high school levels of education within the system under the leadership of Dr. Hintz,” Tandy continued.
As part of the evaluation process, the board identified areas on which Hintz should continue to focus in order to improve all areas of effective educational leadership.
“The school board of trustees recognizes that bringing significant improvement to student achievement and building leader effectiveness requires dedicated focus on the superintendent’s role as the driver of student growth and achievement,” she said. “The board commended Dr. Hintz on his accomplishments that have significantly contributed to Warsaw Community Schools being identified as one of the leading school corporations in the State of Indiana, and looks forward to his continued leadership as WCS strives to attain further levels of excellence in the upcoming school year.”
