Rick Keeven, board member, made the motion, seconded by Jim Gast.
City council will review the ordinance at its meeting Monday. After approval by the city council, it will be sent to FEMA where it will be approved and adopted.
The objectives of the ordinance are to protect human life and health, minimize expenditure of public money for costly flood control projects, and minimize the need for rescue and relief efforts associated with flooding.
There will be a floodplain administrator who will review all floodplain development permits to assure that the permit requirements of the ordinance have been satisfied.[[In-content Ad]]
