After an hour of deliberation between lawyers Monday, Terry Blue's vacation request was approved by the Warsaw Plan Commission.

The vacation is for a public way along his Winona Lake shoreline.

Lawyers for Blue and Steve and Connie Rufenbarger debated over a triangular area of land that lay in both neighboring properties after the proposed vacation. The board voted unanimously in favor of Blue's request, stating that the vacation would not adversely affect Rufenbarger's access to their property.

Blue's request for vacation will now go before the Warsaw City Council June 20.

David L. Carey presented his plans for a 48-lot residential and commercial subdivision west of Ind. 15 and requested preliminary and final plat approvals for various areas of the property. The board approved a preliminary plat for the area west of Carey's proposed Sheldon Street, and also approved a preliminary and final plat for right of way on Sheldon Street along with neighboring property to the south of the street.

The board approved favorable recommendations for Petro Family LLC's requests for an amendment to a planned unit development ordinance. The company wishes to subtract a 150-foot by 500-foot tract of land from the PUD and rezone this land as C-3 commercial. Both requests will go before the City Council for final approval June 20.

A final plat request by John Kimpel, representing Sonya Hoskins, Syracuse, and Wade Fraughiger, was approved unanimously for three lots north of Lake Street.

Present board members were Jeff Grose, Rick Keeven, Alan Clingan, Tammy Dalton, Jim Gast and Lacy Francis Jr. President Joe Thallemer was absent from the meeting. [[In-content Ad]]
