Warsaw Plan Commission Monday approved three preliminary and two final plats.
The first approval was for Shiva Hospitality Corp. for a new commercial plat at 2575 E. Center St. The plat is creating two new commercial lots from the original 5.83 acres.
The property is east of Applebees and west of Wyndham Garden.
The commission also approved preliminary and final plat requests from Habitat For Humanity for replat of Frazer’s Addition along the north side of Market Street. The lots are for residential development.
Jeff Owens, Habitat construction committee member, said the purpose of the replat is that the Habitat executive director and board feel it will service future clients more effectively with allowing for five lots to be on the property.
The commission also approved a preliminary plat request from Collins Leasing  for Briar Ridge Villages to subdivide the existing 9.3 acre tract into two tracts separated by public right of way consisting of Blue Heron Court, Sand Hill Lane and Downy Drive. The commission will still need to approve the final plat after reviewing utility information.
The commission approved a resolution designating certain areas as redevelopment areas in the city. Warsaw City Council still needs to approve the resolution.
The original development area encompasses the blocks between the north and south Conrail tracks, Center and Canal streets and the alley between Indiana and Buffalo streets.
The proposed 2015 expansion will include the property within the mixed used redevelopment project along North Buffalo Street and along Ind. 15.
