The Warsaw middle school band and choir departments will present their Veterans Day concert Thursday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the Lakeview Middle School gymnasium.

The concert will feature the Edgewood and Lakeview middle schools' advanced bands and choirs.

The bands are under the direction of Tammy Sprunger and Joseph Peloza. The Edgewood choirs are directed by Dan Beam, and the Lakeview choirs are under the direction of Judy Becker.

The concert is free of charge, and the public is invited to attend. Veterans and their families are invited by the choirs and bands to attend the concert in their honor.

Wawasee Salutes Veterans

SYRACUSE - Wawasee High School choirs' fall concert, "A Salute to the United States Armed Forces," is Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door the night of the concert. Any person who is active in the military or a retired veteran may come to the concert for free.

The fall concert will feature all three choirs. The choirs that will perform are the beginning chorus, advanced chorus and vocal jazz.

Jamie Culbertson will return again this year to accompany the choirs. Suzanne Schwartz, a Milford native and Wawasee graduate, is the choreographer for the vocal jazz group. Connie Meadows is the choirs director.

A special feature of this fall's program will be a salute to the five major branches of the United States Armed Forces. Each branch's theme song will be sung with a member of that military branch being present on stage.

All three choirs will combine to perform "Salute to America," arranged by Mark Hayes, and "Armed Forces - The Pride of America!" arranged by Greg Gilpin.
