Warsaw Meadows Care Center recently announced new ownership of the facility effective Aug. 1.

Bethany Lutheran Ministries, a Christian not-for-profit service organization from Indianapolis, has acquired the facility and will operate the facility to serve residents of Warsaw. Ide Management Group of Indianapolis will oversee operations of the non-profit as they bring a new era to Warsaw Meadows.

Warsaw Meadows is part of the Ide Management Group. Mark Ide has plans to complete upgrades throughout the facility. The first project to be completed is to open a 36-bed secured, special care unit.

This unit will cater to residents who have unique personalities that require special programming to meet their psychosocial needs. The special care unit will have its own dining/activity area and secure courtyard. An activity program specific to the needs of residents on this unit will also be in place.

Ide also will open a rehab wing complete with rehabilitation suites that are fully furnished with their own televisions and telephones.

The rehab suites will be conveniently located close to the facility's large therapy department. The goal of the rehabilitation program is to assist residents whose goal is to return to home. They will expand the therapy room in order to deliver more aggressive physical, occupational and speech therapy to residents wanting to return to more independent living.

"We do not want people to have to stay in the nursing home if they do not have the need," Ide said. "Our company understands that people want to be in their own home for as long as possible."

Ide already already had the exterior cleaned up and beautified and ordered all new heating and air conditioner systems throughout the facility.

New linens, bedding and window treatments for all the resident rooms have been ordered and many items already have been delivered. Other remodeling efforts to come include painting and refurbishing the Alzheimer's unit and resident rooms in that unit to provide a calmer environment for the residents.

Ide also will refurbish 27 private rooms to include new paint, bedspreads and window treatments.

"About six months from now, Warsaw Meadows will not even look like the same place," Ide said. "I want to provide a healthcare environment that our residents and staff can be proud to live and work in."

Mark Ide and Ide Management Group will work to empower managers and staff to create a professional yet home-like environment at Warsaw Meadows.

Together they will work toward a common goal - value of the individual and excellence in care.

Anyone who would like to know more about the changes taking place at Warsaw Meadows is invited to stop by for a visit or call 574-267-8922.[[In-content Ad]]
