Warsaw Man Injured In Off-Road Accident

BURKET - A Warsaw man suffered a broken back in an off-road vehicle accident Saturday near Burket.

David L. Prater, 37, of Oldfather Street, was riding a three-wheeler up an incline when the front tire of the vehicle went into a rut, causing the three-wheeler to overturn.

According to a report fromthe Indiana Department of Conservation, Prater was thrown from the three-wheeler and the vehicle then rolled over on top of him.

It was at first believed that Prater only suffered broken ribs, but later determined that he also had a broken back. He was transported from Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, to Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was listed in fair condition this morning. [[In-content Ad]]
