Guiff, 45, of 773 Chapman Lake Drive, was arrested Monday morning by Warsaw police for fraud, forgery and theft.
Guiff found the credit card in an ATM in February, according to the probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. The card owner reported it missing March 1 after noticing purchases she had not made or authorized.
The first purchase was at Walmart Feb. 28 for $146.38. Warsaw police viewed surveillance videos from this date and witnessed Guiff purchasing a Duramax battery and motor oil. The video showed Guiff signing the victim’s name.
The second purchase was at a Lassus Brothers gas station, where surveillance showed Guiff putting gas in the same vehicle that he left Walmart in.
Guiff later allegedly admitted to police that he found the card and used it both times. Police took possession of the Duramax battery.[[In-content Ad]]
