SYRACUSE - Warsaw girls golf coach Chris LaLonde said she has been telling her plays she thinks they're on the verge of playing a great round.

In a three-way match with Northern Lakes Conference opponents Wawasee and Concord Thursday at Maxwelton Golf Course the Tigers used a solid round from junior Emily Johnson and consistency from the rest of the team to secure victory.

Johnson shot a 1-over par 37 and tied for match medalist honors with Wawasee's Jessica Rondeau, while fellow Tigers Megan Krizmanich, Elena Duncan, Erica Schori and Jenny Manning all shot 46.

As a team, the Tigers finished the round with a four-man score of 175, edging Concord's 178 and besting host Wawasee's 184.

"I thought it would be close," said LaLonde. "I said a couple weeks ago that Concord, Wawasee and Plymouth were the teams we had to beat to win conference. All those teams will be in the mix. This was just a really good match."

The wins over Concord and Wawasee improved the Tigers to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in Northern Lakes Conference play.

"I'm happy with the consistency," said LaLonde. "We're hitting the ball with consistency, now we just have to get our putts more consistent."

After Thursday's action, Concord is 9-7 overall and 2-2 in the NLC. Wawasee fell to 5-4 overall and 0-3 in conference action.

After Rondeau's 37, the Warriors got a 45 from Taylor Goshert, a 48 from Kelsey McAdams and a 54 from Amanda Xanders. Madi Hike rounded out the Warrior lineup with a 55.

Jesse Dooley led Concord with a 42, while Chellie Zou shot 43, Brooke Dalton 44, Sara Zou 49 and Vanessa Dudding 49.

The Tigers are in action again Saturday in the Hall of Fame Match, while the Warriors play Tuesday at NorthWood in a NLC contest with the Panthers and Northridge Raiders.
