Warsaw Diversity Rally Returns To Central Park

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

The public is invited to attend the second annual Warsaw Diversity Rally April 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Warsaw’s Central Park Fountain Plaza.
This year’s event features speakers covering diversity related topics such as socio-economic issues in Kosciusko County; religious diversity; gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues; cultural holidays; and labels and preconceptions associated with body modification (tattoos and piercings).
The Warsaw Community High School Gay/Straight Alliance will present a spoken word performance. Marena Moonflower and Hans and Britt Kusserow will provide musical entertainments, and a celebration march around downtown Warsaw to show support for diversity awareness and acceptance in the community.
“We are so excited to be back again this year,” said Karen Kusserow, rally chair. “This is such a great opportunity for members of the community to gather peacefully, share experiences and show others that there are those that support people from all walks of life. It’s a great grassroots movement for a great purpose.”
Last year’s event was a success with almost 100 individuals in attendance, Kusserow said.
The Diversity Rally Planning Committee hopes to continue to grow the event gradually each year, adding speakers and performers that embody the message of equality, acceptance and inclusion. This year’s event also will feature vendors that will serve food throughout the two-hour event.[[In-content Ad]]
