NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING THE
PROPOSED CONTRACT BETWEEN
WARSAW COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION EMPLOYING DAVID HOFFERT AS SUPERINTENDENT
    On May 13, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Warsaw Educational Service Center located at 1 Administration Drive, Warsaw, Indiana, the Board of School Trustees will meet to discuss and hear from the public objections to and support for the proposed contract, which will be effective from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2017.

For 2014-15
    * Indicates that Warsaw Community Schools’ contribution may be adjusted if the insurance carrier increases the premiums for same level of coverage.
    # Indicates that Warsaw Community Schools’ benefit paid to the superintendent is the same amount that is paid to teachers.
    Agreement Length:  Indiana statute requires the superintendent contract to be for a term of at least 36 months.  The proposed contract can be canceled by the Board of School Trustees for the reasons set out in Indiana statute.  The superintendent and Warsaw Community Schools can, by mutual agreement, cancel the proposed contract at any time.
    Waiver of Health Insurance Benefit.  The superintendent waives the health insurance benefit that Warsaw Community Schools generally offers its administrators, which has an annual net cost to the school corporation of approximately $15,050.  In exchange for this waiver, Warsaw Community Schools agreed to annually pay the superintendent a stipend of $2,000 for the superintendent to procure health insurance coverage from another source. Through this arrangement, the school corporation generates an annual net savings of $13,050.
    Annual Review and Adjustment:  The Board of School Trustees is contractually obligated to annually evaluate the superintendent’s job performance.  If certain pre-established bench marks are met by the superintendent as part of the annual evaluation, the superintendent is entitled to receive performance based increases to his base salary of up to $6,000 for the second year of this contract and up to an additional $8,000 for the third year of this contract.
    Vacation Days:  The superintendent receives 20 vacation days of which he may carry over five unused days to the following year, but may not possess more than 25 days.
    Additional Benefits:  The superintendent receives additional, non-duplicative benefits that are made available to Warsaw Community Schools certified teachers pursuant to the current collective bargaining agreement.
