Twenty members of the Warsaw BPA chapter attended the Indiana State Leadership Conference recently in Indianapolis.

Students had the chance to hear the keynote speaker, Dr. Jim Wand, attend Leadership Workshops, compete in business-oriented contests, attend to BPA business such as electing new officers, and also have some fun.

During competitions, the following students placed in the top 10 of the state for their event: Jordan Owens-Williams, ninth place in spreadsheet applications; Cody England, eighth place in Cisco Systems administration; Jacob McAlister, sixth place in VB.Net programming; and the financial analyst team finished second. The financial analyst team includes Nicole Kuhn, Erica Ridderman, Hilary Shepherd and Lauren Smolen. They now qualify to attend nationals in Dallas, Texas, early in May.

In the open events (events all students at the conference may take), Erica Ridderman finished fourth in financial math and analysis concepts while Cody England finished 10th in information technology.
