Warsaw BPA Members Prepare For State Competition

On Jan. 17, several Warsaw Business Professionals of America students competed in the District BPA competition at Warsaw Area Career Center.
Students competed against other area schools in a showcase of workplace skills, including events such as prepared speech, Java programming, fundamental accounting and economic research.
Thirty-three students from the Warsaw chapter placed high enough in their respective events to qualify for the BPA State Leadership competition in March.
Those students qualifying to compete at the state level include these Warsaw students in the following events:
• Economic Research Individual: Hannah Rice, third place;
• Graphic Design Promotion: Camille Kerlin, first place;
• Digital Media Production: Sydney Hartman, second place;
• Interview Skills: Olivia Timmerman, first place;
• Extemporaneous Speech: David Homme, second place; John Kuhn, third place;
• Human Resource Management: Sam Rice, second place;
• Prepared Speech: Brenden Sullivan, third place;
• Fundamental Accounting: MegAnn Pearl, first place; Josh Ahlersmeyer, second place; Hunter Haines, third place; Nelson Solis, fourth place;
• Advanced Accounting: Ryan Cultice, first place; Caleb Klusman, second place;
• Payroll Accounting: Jonathan Murphy, first place; Olivia Timmerman, second place;
• Fundamental Word Processing: Tim Swanson, first place; David Homme, third place;
• Advanced Word Processing: Sandra Bonilla, first place;
• Integrated Office Applications: Jacob Grimm, second place; Ben Britton, third place;
• Advanced Spreadsheet Applications: Nick Bergen, first place; Sandra Bonilla, second place;
• Database Applications: Robert White, first place;
• Computer Network Technology: Zane Owen, first place;
• PC Servicing & Troubleshooting: Zane Owen, first place; John Lacheta, second place;
• Visual Basic/C# Programming: Justin Stout, first place;
• Java Programming: Robert White, first place; John Kuhn, second place; Justin Stout, third place;
• Financial Analyst Team, first place: Ryan Cultice, Jonny Hollar, Caleb Klusman, Jake Mangas;
• Economic Research Team, first place: Madi Mutchler, Diane Wack;
• Global Marketing Team, first place: Nick Bergen, Same Rice;
• Small Business Management Team, second place: Brayden Sammons, Hunter Haines, Ellie Bearrs, Brooklyn Jackson;
• Presentation Management Team, second place: Marcelo Brito, Marciela Brito, Britney Castillo.
