Warsaw Artist Honored At Minnesota Show

There were five pieces of her artworks displayed in the “Visions & Viewpoints, Artists of the Dakota & Ojibwa People” art show.
The show was hosted by the Red Wing Arts Association in Red Wing, Minn.
Stephenson Biggs’ art work included a pastel self portrait, prayer fan, gourd doll, shadow stick and meditation rock. The art work was on display at the gallery from May 5 through June 24.
A daughter of the Ojibwa Nation, Stephenson Biggs is a member of the White Earth Reservation in Minnesota.
Her home and art studio are located in Warsaw.
Stephenson Biggs is employed at Lakeland Financial Corp. in their Warsaw office.
Her work in the fine art mediums have won multiple awards at several juried art shows at The Clark Gallery in Mark C. Honeywell Memorial Center, Wabash.
Her artwork also has been exhibited through the Lakeland Arts Association in Pierceton and the Avant-Garde Gallery in Fort Wayne.
Proficient in a variety of artistic mediums and with more than 35 years of experience, her patrons have commissioned fine art portraits and landscapes, as well as recycled folk art furniture pieces, custom business signs, gemstone jewelry and her Native American Indian crafts.[[In-content Ad]]Stephenson Biggs’ personal identification to her Ojibwa heritage includes a spiritual affinity with her ancestors, she said. She embraces their ideals of honoring and respecting the dominion between human beings and the elementals in nature, according to her.
It is through her artwork that she hopes to share with others the inspiration she receives from nature’s balance and harmony and life’s love and joy, she said.
