Airport Manager David Beall said at the Board of Aviation Commissioner’s that there could be a possible opening at the airport for a full time charter company.
“Image Air has almost shut down entirely,” Beall said. “The data from their sales shows that they have shut down, but they say that they are still scheduling flights.”
Beall informed the board that he would be more than happy to look around for a suitor to take over for Image Air if the board would like.
Board President Jay Rigdon agreed to allow Beall to search out other companies.
“I wouldn’t mind putting out a couple feelers, if we can show we have better prices and services than other places,” Rigdon said. “I don’t want to step on any toes though.”
A call to Image Air for comment was were not returned as of press time.
At the meeting Beall also informed the board that hangar 4A had been put up for auction and sold recently.
“Clarene Panchison’s hangar was recently sold at auction to Dr. William Stofer,” Beall said. “If approved the lease will run from now through January 2021.”
The board voted unanimously to approve the motion.
Beall also went over the expenditures for the airport and sought approval for the yearly payment for liability insurance, as well as the oil bill and payroll.
Paul Grossnickle moved for approval of the expenditures including the $194,000 bill to Western Petroleum.
Beall informed the board members that the airport’s revenue was up for the month and up for the year as well.
“We should finish well this year,” Beall said.[[In-content Ad]]
