Warrior Swimmers Bounce Back

SYRACUSE - After getting beaten by Penn the last time in the pool, the Wawasee girls swimming team came back for a 118-68 win over East Noble on Tuesday.
Wawasee placed first in 10 events, seven of them individual. Each of the individual first place victories came from a different swimmer. Laura Karns, Laura Lundin, Jaime Conn, Jenny Marty, Carrie Grothaus, Tami Miller, and Jane Wamsley all placed first in at least one event.
Wawasee (2-1) will be at Bremen on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

At Elkhart, NorthWood opened its season in impressive fashion on Tuesday, dominating the Elkhart Memorial from the opening tip-off.
NorthWood, ranked No. 2 in the state, was led in scoring by Amy Zercher with 22 points. Natalie Will added 21 points, 11 rebounds, five assists. Heidi Collins had eight points and 12 rebounds.
In junior varsity action, NorthWood won 46-18. Andee Morris led NorthWood (1-0) with 12 points and Shelly Stichter and Lindsay Carlin each had eight points. Elkhart Memorial's Lindsey Drummond had seven points.
NorthWood (1-0) will be at South Bend John Adams on Saturday at 6:15 p.m.
